# Futures Prop Firms in 2026: Rules, Fees, Alternative

Futures prop firms sell a simulated account on exchange-listed contracts: an evaluation fee, a loss limit and a profit split. EVEDEX raises the notional on your own margin instead, on perpetuals that never expire.

## Where a perpetual differs from a listed future

Same directional bet, different plumbing: no expiry date, no session calendar and no firm rulebook on top.

### No expiry, no roll

A listed future has a delivery month and has to be rolled. A perpetual has neither, so a position stays open as long as margin covers it, weekends and holidays included.

### Funding instead of carry

Funding is calculated every 8 hours per pair and charged hourly at one eighth of the rate, passing directly between longs and shorts. EVEDEX takes no side in that payment.

### No daily loss rule

No firm-imposed daily drawdown can be breached on EVEDEX: the ceiling is your own margin. Cross margin means the whole futures balance backs every open position.

### Leverage in stated tiers

200x applies only to BTC-USD, ETH-USD and SOL-USD up to $50,000 of notional. XRP, oil, silver and gold reach 100x, 24 pairs 75x and 18 pairs 50x.

## Three steps instead of an evaluation

No Combine, no profit target, no waiting period before the first trade.

### Log in and deposit

Sign in with a wallet, email or social account and deposit from 6 USDT. There is no traditional KYC; deposits pass automated AML screening.

### Post your own margin

Move 50 USDT into Funded Trading for 1,500 USDT of notional, or up to 3,335 USDT for 100,000 USDT. The margin stays yours until a trade loses it.

### Pick a pair and size it

Margin equals notional divided by leverage: 10x on 1,000 USDT reserves 100 USDT. Unfilled orders cost nothing, and only executed ones pay a fee.

## What the two cost structures actually charge

A subscription is due whether or not you trade; a percentage fee is only due when an order fills.

Topstep bills $49 a month for a $50,000 Trading Combine, and that charge repeats for every month spent in evaluation. On EVEDEX a $10,000 taker order costs 0.045%, or $4.50, and a maker order $1.50; cashback of up to 35% lowers the effective rates to 0.02925% and 0.00975%. Placing and cancelling orders costs nothing. The trade-off is the direction of risk: a subscription caps the loss at the fees, while your own margin can go in full.

## Risk warning

Perpetual futures carry a high risk of loss. At 100x a 1% move against you equals the initial margin, and cross margin exposes the whole futures balance. Funded Trading raises the notional, not your protection. EVEDEX is not intended for UK retail clients. This page is not investment advice.

## Futures prop firm questions, answered

### What are futures prop firms?

They are firms that sell an evaluation on exchange-listed futures and then let successful candidates trade a simulated account for a share of the profit. Topstep charges $49 a month for a $50,000 Trading Combine, Earn2Trade asks from $150 for a $25,000 evaluation.

### How much do futures prop firms cost?

Entry ranges from tens to hundreds of dollars, checked on September 21, 2026: $49 a month at Topstep for $50,000, from $69.99 at FundedNext Futures for $50,000, from $150 at Earn2Trade for $25,000 and a $130 one-off activation on a Take Profit Trader PRO account.

### Is EVEDEX a futures prop firm?

No. EVEDEX is a hybrid perpetual futures exchange with off-chain matching and on-chain settlement on Arbitrum. Its Funded Trading feature sells no evaluation and grants no capital: you post your own margin, 50 USDT for 1,500 USDT of notional and up to 3,335 USDT for 100,000, and keep all of the profit.

### What is the difference between perpetual futures and futures contracts?

A listed future expires on a delivery date and trades during exchange sessions, so positions have to be rolled. A perpetual never expires and trades 24/7; instead of carry, funding is calculated every 8 hours and charged hourly at one eighth of the rate between longs and shorts.

### Do futures prop firms have a daily loss limit?

Most do, and breaching it ends the account. FTMO applies a 5% daily and 10% total loss cap, and Topstep advertises a $2,000 maximum loss limit on its $50,000 Combine. EVEDEX imposes no daily rule, because the ceiling is the margin you posted yourself.

### What leverage can I use on EVEDEX?

It depends on the pair: 200x on BTC-USD, ETH-USD and SOL-USD up to $50,000 of notional, 100x on XRP, oil, silver and gold, 75x on 24 pairs and 50x on 18 more, with 10x on the two pre-market contracts. The cap falls as the position grows.

### What markets can I trade around the clock?

All 52 EVEDEX pairs are perpetual and trade 24/7: 39 crypto pairs, five stocks, Tether Gold, silver, WTI oil, EURUSD, USDJPY, the SPY index and two pre-market contracts. Exchange-listed futures close for sessions and holidays, which is where most of the practical difference sits.

### How do trading fees compare with an evaluation subscription?

A subscription is due every month of the evaluation, filled orders or not. EVEDEX charges a maximum of 0.015% maker and 0.045% taker before cashback, so a $10,000 taker order costs $4.50 and an unfilled order costs nothing. Cashback of up to 35% cuts the effective rate further.

## Trade perpetual futures without an evaluation

52 pairs, 24/7, cross margin in USDT. Fees capped at 0.015% maker and 0.045% taker before cashback, and 50 USDT of your own margin opens 1,500 USDT of notional, the top tier 3,335 USDT for 100,000.
